In this lecture, Zhang Bo, a Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute Ljubljana, told the audience the glorious history of Xi'an, an ancient civilization, from four perspectives: "Modern Xi'an", "Xi'an in the Qin Dynasty", "Xi'an in the Han Dynasty" and "Xi'an in the Tang Dynasty". The speaker showed the traces of civilization left by the different dynasties in Xi'an, such as the ancient city wall of Xi'an, the bell tower of Xi'an, the mausoleum of the first Qin emperor and the terracotta warriors and horses of Xi'an. There are also many wonderful historical stories told that happened in Xi'an, such as:

• The Opening of the Silk Road,
• Xuanzang's Journey to the West,
• Li Bai writing poetry, etc.

At the end of the lecture, the speaker also showed some poems, songs, movies and documentaries related to Xi'an to help the students understand the culture of Xi'an.

The audience said that they learned more about the history of Xi'an and China through this lecture and are now more interested in it.
