SILA BAZAAR 2021
On Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10.30 AM, SILA BAZAAR charity event organized by the SILA International Women's Club Ljubljana was grandly opened on Stritarjeva street in the center of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Bazaar is an opportunity for countries to proudly present their culture and tradition and it is a great opportunity to discover many different cultures in one place. However, the Bazaar mainly serves as the principal source of funding selected charity projects. All the earning go for Charity projects carefully selected by SILA IWCL. This year’s supported projects are: Mladinsko zdravilišče debeli Rtic, Klimatsko Zdravilišče Rakitna, Društvo prijateljev mladine Metlika, Sonček Društvo za cerebralno paralizo.
The Confucius Institute in Ljubljana brought a wonderful performance of a traditional Chinese story of Pangu and the creation of the world. It was presented in Chinese and Slovene. CI Ljubljana’s stand also offered some mooncake tasting and Calligraphy on paper lanterns workshop.
For many people, Chinese characters are full of mysterious oriental charm. Many people brought their children to CI Ljubljana’s calligraphy workshop and experienced the fun of writing Chinese characters on rice paper with a brush for the first time. We also prepared some paper lanterns. First, children practiced their writing on the rice paper and then they began to write their favorite Chinese characters and their Chinese names on the lanterns. One of them, Eva, said that she would hang the lantern in her room.
