The Hanyu Qiao (meaning Chinese Bridge) competition is a Hanban project organized by the Confucius Institute Ljubljana. It is an annual Chinese proficiency competition for secondary school and university students. Hanyu Qiao competition consists of: general knowledge test; Chinese speech and cultural performance (for example: singing in Chinese, martial arts, Chinese folk dancing and Chinese poetry recital).

High School and University ‘Hanyu Qiao’ Chinese Bridge Competitions both offer a chance to win a free trip to China for the top performers, where they will have the opportunity to represent Slovenia at the international finals with winners from other countries. Prizes for university students include Chinese language scholarships (Confucius scholarship).

To be eligible for the competition, you must be a non-Chinese citizen of non-Chinese background and a genuine speaker of Chinese (Mandarin) as a second language. For more information, please contact ciljubljana@ef.uni-lj.si.
