Chinese Day at the Academy of Music
We prepared a series of activities to ensure everyone would find something for themselves.
Visitors could learn how to make Chinese lucky knots and take part in a calligraphy workshop, where they learned how to write Chinese characters with a brush and ink on white rice paper.
For anyone who got hungry, there were Chinese snacks and tea, prepared in the traditional Chinese way for visitors to observe.
At 2 PM it was time for the main cultural performances. The Confucius Institute teachers played music with guitar and a traditional Chinese instrument called hulusi. Afterwards, the audience had a chance to observe a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and a dance performance prepared by a group of Chinese women living in Slovenia.
An important guest of the event was the Chinese Ambassador to Slovenia, Wang Shunqing, who in his speech referred to the importance of spreading Chinese culture in the international space.
We are thankful to everyone who attended and are hoping for more similar events in the future.
