First of all, in order to welcome the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon, Anja, a sinologist from the Confucius Classroom in Koper, introduced “2024 Year of the Dragon” to students in seven classes in turn. She explained to the students the characteristics of the dragon in 2024, such as the green dragon, and emphasized the cultural connotation and symbolic significance of the Chinese dragon. She also mentioned that although dragons are portrayed as evil in many film and television works, in Chinese culture, dragons are a symbol of strength and represent happiness and contentment. In addition, Anja also introduced the application of Chinese dragons in porcelain, sculpture and other arts, allowing students to appreciate the rich connotations of Chinese dragons.
