CI Ljubljana at SILA BAZAAR 2022
On October 15, 2022, Confucius Institute Ljubljana was invited to participate in a charity event organized by SILA International Women's Association Ljubljana.
The 29th SILA BAZAAR event started at 10:30 a.m. on Stritarjeva Street in the center of Ljubljana. No less than 35 countries presented their culture and traditions at the event, which was attended by more than 10,000 people in total.
The charity bazaar is an opportunity for countries to present their handicrafts, music, souvenirs, folklore, national cuisine, clothing and literature. It is an opportunity for countries to present their culture and traditions, and it is a great opportunity to discover many different cultures in one place.
SILA BAZAAR serves primarily as the main source of funding for selected charity projects. All proceeds from the day will be donated to charity projects carefully selected by the International Women’s Club Ljubljana, including the Youth and Health Resort - Debeli rtič (Mladinski dom Veverička, Mladinsko zdravilišče in letovišče RKS Debeli rtič), the Autism Institute (Inštitut za avtizem, zavod za razvojno medicino, Ljubljana) and the CUDV Radovljica (Center za usposabljanje, delo in varstvo Radovljica).
The Confucius Institute Ljubljana arranged a promotional stand wih tea art and Hanfu showcase. At the workshop tables, CI Ljubljana teachers offered calligraphy and Chinese knotting workshops.
In addition to the country stands, there was also a stage with cultural performances at SILA BAZAAR. The cultural program began at 10:30 a.m. and the last performance took place at 4:30 p.m. Volunteer teachers from the Confucius Institute Ljubljana prepared two performances. Zhang Bo and Fu Hao combined the traditional Chinese musical instrument Cucurbit flute (Hulusi) with Western music. Teacher Wang Qian presented Taichi with the sword.
